Casa Loma

Clean and homey rooms at a rock-bottom prices in a characteristic neighborhood location impress our guests at the Casa Loma Hotel in San Francisco. Some of the 48 rooms at this hip well-managed older property have bathrooms down the hall and some are en suite. Ask for a corner room for a splendid view of the San Francisco skyline. The no-frills Casa Loma offers Wi-Fi (for a fee) but little else in the way of amenities. You'll have to hike up the stairs and bring your own shampoo but our guests appreciate the value and proximity to rapid transit. The hotel is in the Alamo Square neighborhood a 20-minute bus ride to downtown and within a couple of blocks of the city's oft-photographed "Seven Sisters" the row of gorgeous flamboyantly painted Victorians along Alamo Square Park. It's a half-mile to eclectic shopping and dining in Hayes Valley and three miles to Golden Gate Park. Casa Loma is 14 miles from San Francisco International Airport and 20 miles from Oakland International.
