Os quartos são limpos, café da manhã suficiente, sem muitas variações, localização ótima com estacionamento, e os funcionários tirando uma loira na recepção que era muito arrogante no qual não fiz questão nem de saber o nome está bom. Recomendo.

The Notebook on A1A Miami Beach was a complete fraud, so we cancelled the remaining 2 nights w/a cancelation charge of $75, & booked the place we stayed 2 yrs. ago. The Shalimar.....
Was still disappointed, cuz they no longer provided a grab & go breakfast, but not as big of a disappointment as the Notebook was!

Recently a friend and I decided to get a room at a motel together away from his roommates & my housemates so we could catch up on each others' lives. We decided to get a room at one of Biscayne Blvd's famed retro motels called Shalimar. It was a little more than I wanted to pay but they had recently renovated and Covid forced most businesses to raise prices to recover some of their losses. It turned out to be worth every penny!
Shalimar Motel, for those who don't know, is one of about a dozen motels built on Biscayne Blvd. (a.k.a. U.S.1) in the 1950's when the automobile made roadtrips the way to see the U.S. It's located a block or two from Starbucks and walking distance to many of Biscayne Blvd's convenience stores, restaurants and interesting boutique shops. It also happens to be located halfway between where my friend lives and where I live. The room we had was on the 2nd floor and near the stairs so it was easy to get to. It had all the creature comforts that is necessary to live in this day and age, i.e. smart t.v., WiFi, etc., but the design is what really impressed me. It had a retro feel to it without being gaudy and just enough furniture to be functional without feeling cluttered.
My only disappointment was the motel didn't have an ice machine. Apparently that goes against MiMo's building codes. However, a mini refrigerator in our room allowed me to keep beverages cold. That made me happy.😁

Terrible money hungry type of service i received..... put all the black people together ... we like our skin and race but doesn't mean we want to vacation together..the microwave was dirty and wasn't working .....rooms were so uncomfortable that you would rather sit outside

Ok so I read the other reviews and for the most part I don't agree. This place was the best. Clean, quite, courteous. Rooms were clean, no bugs or evidence of bugs. The staff didn't bother you. Safe spot. Convenient to the beaches and plenty of restaurants in walking distance. They have a small outside seating area that we really enjoyed. Listen if you are used to 5 star hotels don't stay here. If you want clean quite and safe on a budget this is your place. I will alsays go here when I am in Miami. The only downfall that I found odd is the communal outside microwave...strange right.

The owners were incredibly nice! They explained everything to us thoroughly and got all we needed. The room was cute and clean. My only downside really was the wifi being to weak. However the price was good and I enjoyed.

Me quedé 3 noches entre el 2 y el 4 de abril de 2019. El motel está en perfectas condiciones. La habitación estaba limpia, la cama de dos plazas cómoda. Incluye frigobar y televisor. El baño también estaba en muy buenas condiciones, el único defecto es que no tiene ventilación mecánica ni ventana, por lo que concentra mucha humedad luego de una ducha (nada grave).Me tocó una habitación en la parte trasera. No tuve ningún inconveniente de ruidos ni nada molesto.El desayuno es muy malo. Ponen en una mesa de la recepción dispensador de café, leche, donuts, alguna mermelada, tostadas. No mucho más.Tiene estacionamiento gratuito en la parte delantera y trasera del establecimiento, que para quienes alquilamos auto es un atractivo importante.Si vas por Miami, solo lo recomiendo como mucho para pasar dos noches. Además de la tarifa por las noches reservadas, cobran 10 dólares adicionales POR NOCHE al momento de llegar, lo que encarece la estadía, así hayan sido 30 dólares más. Lamentablemente la agencia que usé para hacer la reserva no me informó de esto.Me pareció un motel caro para lo que ofrece. No tiene ningún diferencial respecto a otros más baratos. Si pensás quedarte más días en Miami, buscá un hotel con más y/o mejores servicios. Si estás por pocos días y no te interesa un buen desayuno y que tus ratos de ocio o descanso en un hotel sea encerrado en una habitación mirando tele, te resultará adecuado. Si además de playa, shopping y paseos, querés disfrutar ratos libres en el hotel, entonces buscá algo que pueda costar un poco más, pero que te haga esos momentos más placenteros.La zona es tranquila. Había leído comentarios de que podía ser peligrosa en la noche, pero como no hay locales comerciales ni nada atractivo en las cuadras linderas, no sentí inseguridad. Si no alquilaste auto, está lejos de todo.
