Convenient. Nice hotel with lots of history.The rooms are typical small for San Francisco area, but the bathrooms were tiny, you could be sitting on the toilet and touching the sink and shower tiny. The elevators were a bit slow so don’t be in a hurry to leave if you need to catch an elevator. Great work out area with lots of equipment.Convenient to lots of great places to eat, drink and sight see. Great bar and happy hour, friendly staff, Ryan was great and gave us lots of ideas about things to see in the city. Make sure you get a picture with the doorman on your way out or in.

If you are looking for a boutique hotel, this one is exceptional! Manager Jason and his staff go out of their way to make you feel right at home. Excellent restaurant, morning coffee, afternoon wine, cool bar on the top floor with scenic views, very comfortable rooms and accommodations all the way around. Excellent location and restaurants within steps of the hotel.I will certainly stay here again. Thank you for making me feel right at home.

Entry, though a bit small, is classic and very pretty. Elevators are old but updated with room key activation. Rooms are decent sized, some with great views, though the bathrooms are tiny. Like sit on the toilet carefully so you don't bonk your head on the sink tiny. I could literally sit on the toilet while washing my feet in the tub and hands in the sink all at the same time. Otherwise, a nicely priced hotel considering the location. Lots of great shopping around union square and this place is right in the middle of it all without the extravagant price tag (for San Fran anyways).

Very nice hotel.Rooms are a bit small as was the format from when it was built, but survivable.Has a safe and hair dryer, but no fridge. Location is excellent. Cable cars stop right out front and 20 minutes later your at Fisherman's Wharf. A block from Union Square and 3 blocks from the BART station.Staff is extremely friendly and polite.

From the moment I walked through the front door, I felt like royalty. The lobby is scrumptiously appointed with high ceilings and beautiful period decor. Calvin, at the reception desk, was extremely welcoming and helpful, a very nice introduction to the delights that were to follow. Our room was huge, elegant in decor, bright and extremely comfortable for our group of four. Scala restaurant provided complimentary coffee and tea as well as delicious meals while Lizzie's lounge offered a lively evening venue and outstanding views of the city.
The hotel's location made exploring the city via public transportation very convenient. Calvin continued to be most knowledgable and extremely pleasant, enhancing my first trip to San Francisco even more. Thanks.

My two sisters and I treated our mother to a trip to San Francisco for her 80th birthday, and we'r couldn't have been more happy with the Sir Francis Drake. The hotel location was perfect for our stay, and the room was clean and well appointed. The bathroom was a bit small, but modern and clean. We took full advantage of the happy hour from 5-6 each evening!
I wanted to especially compliment the clerk st the front desk, Calvin. We had a discrepancy with the billing, and he handled the situation confidently and professionally. He was such a warm welcoming demeanor and we instantly felt that we'd made the right choice in hotels. Later that night my mother mistakenly ordered an in-room movie, and not only did Calvin remove the charge from our bill, he even offered a complimentary movie night for "the girls"! We didn't take him up on his offer, but it was a wonderful gesture.
Would definitively stay in this lovely hotel again!

This hotel had it all, I was surprised how good it was, the place was clean and neat with great touches such as the dart board and games in the room. We had breakfast each morning in the caravan in the courtyard.

Unos indeseables!! Te cobran un depósito de 116$ a la entrada y luego sin avisarte al de dos días te quitan otros 116$. A la salida te aseguran que en 12-24H te los reintegrarán pero es falso llevamos más de dos semanas insistiendoles y no dan señales de vida.

Hotel situado en pleno centro de San Francisco. Muy cómodo para hacer turismo y con una decoración que, si te gusta, se hace graciosa. El único pero es que todo es de pago: el wifi, el agua... En otros hoteles te incluyen una botella y, desde luego, la clave del internet sin tener que pagar.

Great hotel! I love ghost stories so it was really cool to hear about the history here. I even had an "encounter" myself where my lights were turning on and off on their own. Also their package service is phenomenal. Only complaint would be that the rooms need mini fridges and coffee/tea makers.
