Marriott platinum member here. Like the others, I booked here months ago only to find out the hotel wasn't going to open and have my reservation canceled. I understand that the hotel opening date may or may not be somewhat out of their control but the timing on when to notify me of the cancelation was in their control and they decided to wait until 4 days before my stay to reach out to me and let me know. 4 DAYS!!! I had to book another hotel at a much higher rate at my expense. Marriott is supposed to have a guarantee for platinum members. Don't believe it. Terrible customer service and I'm thinking about taking my loyalty elsewhere. Never again.

Same experience with everyone else. I had reservations at SpringHill Suites AND Towneplace Suites right next door, managed by the same company. I got an email just a few days prior to the check-in saying that the hotel won't be open and recommending another property which will "honor [my] existing rate and guestroom type, based on availability" and that I "must contact them."
I reached out to Marriott to see if this can be covered by their ultimate reservation guarantee for elite members and they said that the guarantee "applies to the properties that are open and operating."
Very disappointing experience.

Can't rate it! Made reservations only to find it was closed and under construction! I had no hotel room when arriving in NyC on a Friday! Marriott really dropped the ball. I had to call customer service to get points and resolution!

Reservei 2 quartos através da Booking.com em abril, para novembro, com abertura prevista para maio. Desde então, tenho mudado todos os meses. Preocupado com o atraso, comecei em setembro para me comunicar com o hotel e Booking.com. A resposta foi que planejamos abrir no dia de sua chegada, caso contrário, iremos informá-lo sobre nosso procedimento de mudança. Na última semana antes de nossa partida, eles nem se deram ao trabalho de responder, embora fosse evidente que o hotel não abriria. De repente, 4 dias antes da nossa partida, entraram em contacto notificando que iriam cancelar a reserva e ofereceram uma estadia noutro hotel ao mesmo preço mas sem pequeno-almoço (o que significa na realidade um preço mais elevado para nós). Fomos obrigados a concordar devido ao disponibilidade limitada para uma nova reserva de última hora. Após 1 dia eles enviaram um número de confirmação do novo hotel sem informar o que inclui, não respondi às minhas novas mensagens. Fui forçado a ligar para o novo hotel apenas para descobrir que a nova reserva era apenas para 1 quarto, não para 2, aparentemente eles bagunçaram a transferência da reserva. Conversei várias vezes com o novo hotel e eles me responderam que o representante da Springhill foi informado e resolverá o problema muito em breve e não se preocupe com isso ! Tudo isso está acontecendo 2 dias antes de nossa partida para uma viagem ao exterior! Depois de várias horas, claro, nenhuma nova mensagem confirmando que teremos o segundo quarto. quartos disponíveis, fomos forçados a cancelar e reservar outro hotel a um custo significativo. Eles nunca nos retornaram. Total falta de responsabilidade, a pior experiência de todos os tempos!

Booked 2 rooms through Booking.com in April, for November, supposed to open in May.Since then opening day has, i been changing every month.Concerned about the delay I started in September to communicate with hotel and Booking.com.The standard answer was we plan to be open on your arrival day,if not we will inform you of our relocation procedure.The last week before our departure they did not even bother to answer, although it was apparent the hotel would not open. Suddenly 4 days before our departure they contacted notifying they will cancel the reservation and offered a stay at another hotel at the same price but with no breakfast (that means in reality at a higher price for us).We were forced to agree because of the limited availibility for a last minute new reservation.After 1 day they send a confirmation number for the new hotel without stating what it includes, did not answer to my new messages.I was forced to call the new hotel only to discover that the new reservation was only for 1 room not for 2,apparently they messed up the reservation transfer.Talked multiple times with the new hotel and they gave me the answer that the Springhill representative has been informed and will resolve the problem very soon and not to worry about it!All this is happening 2 days before our departure for an overseas trip!After several hours of course no new message confirming that we will have the second room.Afraid that we will arrive at a hotel with no available rooms, we were forced to cancel and book another hotel at a significant cost.They never got back to us .Total lack of responsibility ,worst experience ever!

Como os outros, minha reserva foi cancelada e deixada em apuros. A reclamação não é o cancelamento, atrasos acontecem, mas eles devem ter sabido dos atrasos, mas continuaram cancelando no último minuto, forçando aqueles que reservaram a encontrar novas acomodações TAXAS MUITO MAIS ELEVADAS. Like the others, my booking was cancelled and left in a lurch. The complaint isn't the cancellation, delays happen, but they must have known about the delays but continued to cancel at the last minute forcing those who booked to find new accommodations MUCH HIGHER RATES. My booking was cancelled two working days before my arrival.Furthermore, neither Marriott nor the hotel manager was able to help. They offered a new booking but that has still not been confirmed and the trip is tomorrow. Bad service is an understatement.

Absolutely atrocious. How do you tell people you’re going to cancel their reservation 3 days before their stay? If it’s due to construction, the construction project managers know when it will be finished way ahead of time. Hotel management just decided to delay letting their patrons know.What a joke - they deserve this poor rating even before they open.

Absolutely appalling service (or lack of): I had reserved six rooms and some of the people are coming from Europe to work at a trade show with me. I called hotel twice to make changes to reservations and at both times the answering machine stated that 'leave your name and number and a member of the management team will call you.' Well, guess what: NO CALL!!I called the Marriott central reservation where they confirmed that the hotel will not be finished on time for my trip. They created a ticket. I was told that the department which "handles-for -reservations-for-hotels-which-are-not-yet-finished" will contact me. I was also told there is no way for me to contact them - sounds like such utopian bureau in the bowels of 'the firm.'My original reservation was made months ago at the rate of about $130/night. Now I am subject to rate closer to $200/night and apparently not eligible for compensation.I have been a longterm member of the Hilton group rewards program, but grown vary of their service and what seemed like a declining hotel standards. Because of that I switched to Marriott chain. Now I am wondering if I made a wrong decision...

Hice una reserva para una visita en noviembre. Sin embargo, se canceló unilateralmente 7 días antes de la visita. No había ninguna razón, y mirando otras críticas, la apertura parece retrasarse.Creo que la apertura puede retrasarse debido a las circunstancias del hotel. We booked several rooms in May for a November stay. Thankfully I stumbled upon the reviews stating the opening has been delayed. We are supposed to fly in from out of state in one week. They are now saying the hotel will not be opening until December 6th. It would have been nice for someone to contact us to let us know. Had I not seen these reviews we would have been standing outside a construction site with our suitcases in hand. Now we are left scrambling to find rooms, and prices have gone up significantly since May. Thanks a lot, Marriott! Singed, a former loyal customer.
