Built in 1869 the inn's 15 rooms feature cable TV and air conditioning; additional amenities in some rooms include wood burning fireplaces jetted tubs and private balconies overlooking the bay. Enjoy all the comforts of home while being treated to a complimentary continental breakfast in the morning and an evening wine and cheese reception around the fireplace. Stay plugged in with Wi-Fi. Parking is available for an added fee. Note: Guests planning to arrive before or after the designated check-in time must contact the property prior to arrival for special instructions. Guests can contact the property using the number on the reservations confirmation received after booking. Located a one and one half-mile east of scenic Route 101 the Gables Inn is under three miles north of the Golden Gate Bridge. You're in the heart of downtown Sausalito: stroll two blocks to the waterfront and the shops and restaurants on Bridgeway Street and walk five minutes to the ferry terminal for a ride to San Francisco. Drive 20 minutes to the redwoods in Muir Woods National Monument and 25 minutes to Stinson Beach. Downtown San Francisco is 10 miles south and the Napa Valley wine country is one hour north. San Francisco International Airport is 22 miles south.

I called to get a copy of a receipt for a stay we had there and the most unfriendly, rude man, Dimetri, acted as if I was asking for top secret information. He could not have been more difficult and droll. Worst customer service. How the Inn makes him the point of contact is mind boggling.

Classy remodel of an old-style house with perfect San Francisco Bay views. Comfortable bed, great lighting options, claw-foot tub. Our room shared a deck with opposite room; it offered a great Bey View. Loads of coffee/tea and creamer pods for Keurig machine. Friendly, helpful staff, Quality, peaceful lodgings.

If you are looking for a place to lay your head for the night, the Gables Inn will do. If you are looking for an “experience”, I recommend you look elsewhere! Rooms are badly outdated with tons of deferred maintenance. Carpet was pretty badly stained in many areas. Very little in the form of amenities here. The biggest issue for me was the non-existence of their famed “wine & cheese hour” or “delicious continental breakfast”. Apparently, they quietly stopped offering these perks sometime in the past few months. I re-checked their website and found no mention of wine hour or breakfast — that being said, it is ALL OVER THE INTERNET that they provide a wine reception in the evening and a nice breakfast in the mornings. I know the hotel is not responsible for what others post online, but it seems a bit disingenuous to coast off of old reviews. When I asked about breakfast, the lady working acted as if it was a ridiculous question…. No explanation, no apology, not even a suggestion of somewhere to eat instead. It really left a bad taste in my mouth, and next time I visit Sausalito I will be staying somewhere else.

Nice location. Small but quaint rooms. They have parking but it is limited and you need to keep in mind they have overflow parking around the corner. Continental Breakfast in the morning. Cocktail hour is nice.

My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights. Excellent place! Our room had just been renovated (Sequoia room), we were the first guests to stay after the work. The room has a full kitchen and utensils. Really nice. We had a fireplace, breakfast nook and a great view across the bay to the city. The location is excellent and Matthew was very helpful and attentive! They are renovating additional rooms. Good to see a wonderful place like this make it through the pandemic and able to invest in their facilities. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it!
