Great service for a great price. Especially during this pandemic when it's very hard to know which hotels are keeping up with standards and have proper staff to function adequately. Would definitely return next time I'm in NYC!

Hyatt Union Square— please have compassion! We are trying to cancel our reservation for Christmas as Covid numbers surge in NYC. This wasn’t our plan or yours either. We wish we could visit but it simply isn’t safe. And you won’t refund us. The corp office says it’s up to the Union Square managers and your front desk says they can’t help— both are deflecting and it looks awful for the brand. Have compassion on your customers right now. Please reach out and help us get the refund we need for a trip that simply isn’t feasible right now.

The location is amazing. Front desk people were so pleasant, welcoming, and helpful - especially Nick - and there was something so carefully attentive about everyone’s demeanor. The rooms are a bit small, but definitely designed to optimize the space, so I appreciated that. I would stay here again and/or recommend that others do so too.

Horrible experience on one of our only nights in NYC. We booked through hotel tonight which is the first mistake however we were told it was a room with a view.
We show up and are told it is a “courtyard view”. When I went to the room I saw that it was simply a view of the air conditioners on top of the building.
At this point I went back down and asked if there was any other rooms which I was told there weren’t so I asked for a refund to go somewhere else and was denied. Not even a discount for the type of room. For 575$ a night that’s what I got. Ridiculous. The night time staff was not accommodating and though the manager was polite I was told there was nothing she could do.
If you have any other options stay elsewhere. Especially for the price, there were many other places that were nicer and more affordable but we chose this hotel due to it supposedly being 4.5 stars. It most definitely does not live up to that standard. Stay anywhere else if you can.

Prepaid for everything, but was charged over $1,000 inexplicably during our stay. Everyone assured me it was a mistake, but no one was able to reverse the charge until days after I left New York. Our first night we couldn't leave the room because the cardkey system was down and a once we finally did get a key the next day they stopped working 24 hours later. Its a really great location, but I don't think I've had a more dysfunctional stay at a Hyatt.

I’m still trying to figure out how this hotel has a 4.4 rating from guests. The room was just mediocre - the linen and bathroom towels, etc had spots and stains - the bed linen also had stains and felt icky. I’ve never been so ready to be back in my own bed at a hotel. And to think I paid more to be in this hotel.
The one plus is location. We stayed over Thanksgiving - Black Friday shopping was a breeze. In Union square and not too far from soho. The customer service was OK. Front desk was awesome.
Everything was pretty much closed (bar (library) and rooftop) but the restaurant was open - great drinks there and OK food.

Quarto com varanda no 2º andar. Varanda foi ótimo. No entanto, o quarto foi uma decepção. Era limpo, mas não fabuloso de forma alguma. Usar o banheiro é uma experiência compartilhada, sem privacidade de ruído. A pia não está no banheiro e está fora do vaso sanitário. É uma configuração estranha que grita eficiência. Não são permitidos itens de cortesia ou até mesmo pagar para comer / beber no quarto. Localização conveniente, mas você vai pagar por isso tendo um quarto que será superado por um dormitório típico.

Called down to have the room serviced and was ignored.They are using the COVID-19 as an excuse not to clean rooms and save on cleaning costs.Was ignored multiple times by the front desk manager Tanya and Jennifer.Similar service to a Holiday Inn Express, maybe a little lower service and quality of rooms.Place is falling apart and in deep need of a complete remodel.

Balcony room on 2nd floor. Balcony was great. However the room was a disappointment. It was clean, but not fabulous in any way. Using the bathroom is shared experience with no noise privacy. The sink is in not in the bathroom and is outside of the toilet. It’s an odd setup that screams efficiency. No complimentary or even pay-to-eat/drink items in the room. Convenient location, but you will pay for that by having a room that will be outclassed by a typical dorm room.

Stayed a few years back when it first opened and it has really gone down hill. Just stayed in the hotel. Walked by the front desk numerous times and there was no one there. Zero security. Did not feel safe. Had issues with the room and very slow to resolve and did not resolve. Expect a low level of service and a worn out Hyatt Place type of hotel. Should be removed as a Hyatt or rebranded as a low tier Hyatt and stop pretending.

Overall, we had an excellent experience, especially given the circumstances with covid. we had food and drinks at their restaurant and it was also an excellent experience. I do want to call out one person in particular who made our stay outstanding. Anton, at the front desk, was exceptional and went way above and beyond to ensure our trip was spectacular! Thank you!!

Our favorite pet-friendly hotel in NYC. Enjoy brunch at Bowery Road and walk the pup at Union Square Park. Library of distilled Spirits also has the most delicious drinks. The staff is also warm and friendly too!

Reservei uma estadia de 4 noites aqui devido à sua localização central. Os quartos são agradáveis e as comodidades são muito boas. Fiquei no quarto 908 nas primeiras duas noites, mas não consegui dormir ... Houve um barulho de rolagem acima de mim que parecia um carrinho de bonde ou malas rolando pelo chão. Isso aconteceu das 12h às 3h e depois das 5h às 7h. Não só isso, mas o molde cromado estava quebrado, então eu não pude assistir nada na TV.Em seguida, mudamos para uma sala mais silenciosa no 704, mas a lâmpada de leitura não acende ... Tantos problemas neste momento. Só falta uma noite, mas estou muito decepcionado por ficar neste Hyatt. A única razão pela qual estou dando 3 estrelas é porque a equipe foi absolutamente incrível e paciente em me ajudar.

I booked a 4 night stay here because of its central location. Rooms are nice and amenities are pretty good. I stayed in room 908 the first two nights, but couldn’t sleep at all... There was a rolling noise above me that sounded like a trolley cart or suitcases rolling across the floor. This happened from 12pm-3am, and then from 5am-7am. Not only that, but the chrome cast was broken so I couldn’t watch anything on tv.Then we changed to a quieter room in 704 but the reading lamp doesn’t turn on... So many issues at this point. Only one night left but I’m so disappointed staying in this Hyatt. The only reason why I’m giving 3 stars is because the staff were absolutely amazing and patient in helping me.
