This is an epic property. I do not always agree with the L. Frank Baum idea with Coronado. The Wizard was written in Macatawa, Michigan. The yellow brick road was the beach, the munchkins were the kids, and the castle was located in Castle Park. But this is a nice representation here. We saw the hotel from the marina to the east.
The Taco Shack at Hotel Del Coronado was absolutely incredible. The entire experience was beyond amazing. The drink was delicious, the tacos were Amazing. I ordered the 5 that were options, and sat on the beach and enjoyed myself! Was on my solo trip ever and this was what happiness is.
Loved staying here. The location right in Coronado Beach is amazing. Loved learning about the history of this magnificent hotel. The 4 stars is simply due to the ongoing construction during our stay. The restoration will be amazing when complete.

Hotel del is over 100 years old!!! One of SD many tourist attractions! It's my favorite place to go for the holidays. Beautiful, festive, friendly & not too far from any city. They're opened now during Covid & has a variety of many restrictions & things to do.

This is a very special place to stay and eat. The building is a historic treasure occupying some of the most beautiful real estate in Southern California. Rooms offer several levels of charm and comfort. Enjoyed many meals, wine and cocktails when 1500 Ocean was still open. The food, wine, setting, and service were outstanding, especially at sunset. I can still taste the perfectly decanted Bordeaux, so many great food offerings, and melt in your mouth desserts in excellent company.

Absolutely incredible. Oceanfront view room is a must while staying here. Hotel is 1800's Victorian. Some like it hot with Marilyn Monroe was filmed here. The ocean can be viewed from bed. Such a beautiful way to wake up.
My husband and I stayed at the Hotel del Coronado for a weekend getaway earlier this month. Our room had recently been redone and was lovely! They are still working through some renovations, but the new pool is really nice and the Sun Deck is amazing. The front desk team were great and very helpful! We look forward to visiting again.

Speechless! One of the most famous, finest and legendary hotels in the world. The hotel has been elegantly remodeled and it looks amazing ! The pool and the beach area furniture are beautifully designed as well as their fire pit suites and cabanas. The ocean view is astonishing! See for yourself.
The most amazing hotel in San Diego! My wife and I used to come to Coronado before we were married. Then we came and stayed for our honeymoon and it was epic! Staying here again, 16 years later, is a dream come true. The staff has been extremely friendly and helpful. The room we have is a newer room. It has such a modern feel. Very different from our last stay. The grounds are well kept. Our room is exquisite! The attention to detail in the design is so inspiring. I haven’t even told you that it’s right on the beach. I can hear the waves as I wrote these words. Looking forward to jumping in the pool today!
Always beautiful at Christmas time this year because of covid it was relatively peaceful in the sense that there wasn't a lot of people around not like the crowds you get at Christmas normally but it was as beautifully decorated as always. No ice skating but they did sit up most of the decorations that are inside the main entrance they put it outside for everyone to enjoy where the ice skating rink typically is set up

Always beautiful, especially at Christmas! Even with the pandemic, they put the tree outside, & the decorations so people could still see and enjoy while social distancing! Beautiful views of the ocean. And the hotel itself is gorgeous

Spacious rooms, kitchen. View of Coronado Hotel across street. Perfect weather. Walk on Orange Ave. Is like walking Mediterranean. Service is perfect.
From the time we walked in to the time we left, everything was tremendous. The property has been meticulously cared for. The restaurants served only the very best food of food and service. The beach, the pool were absolutely amazing. The room was a "little tired" but everything else was amazing. Cannot wait to go back!
My family and I enjoyed this property. The staff was helpful and polite, the rooms were clean and stocked. Quite a chaotic scene during check-in, multitudes of guests and non-guests alike. The gentlemen working near the Valet area was a HUGE help directing us, to parking/check in. We really enjoyed our stay, the beach and the surrounding views we're beautiful!
Hotel del Coronado has been around since 1888 and was created by Elisha Babcock and Hampton L. Story. For more than 130 years this beach has provided extensive leisure to residents, celebrities, royalty and US presidents. In 1997 this location was designated as a National Historic landmark by establishing itself as one of San Diego iconic locations.We did not stay in one of the rooms, but plan on vising this location again to get some more vivid pictures!!
Muy buena ubicación tiene areas muy buenas . El hotel muy viejo y algo caro para lo que ofrecen. Mi habitación teníamal olor . Ventanas muy sucias. Nada que ver con las fotografíasque muestranen su página. Desde que nos subimosal elevador no me gusto. Los pasillosson feos no volvería ase lugar
Beautiful on the outside, disappointing on the inside. We stayed in the Victorian section and while I understand that the hotel is very old, the overall cleanliness of the hotel is very disappointing. We stayed for 4 days and empty cans and trash that was left by patrons on the community balcony on day 2 was still there on day 4 when we left. The cushions on the chairs were floppy and worthless and when I picked one up to fluff it up a bit there were tons of food crumbs and stains all over. The carpet in the main walkway, elevator and room has more stains than I could count. Our hotel bathroom had mold all over the grout, probably because there isn't a bathroom fan to get rid of moisture. These things might seem minor but when you start to pay attention, you really notice the neglect. Like peeling paint chunking off on the inside of our window sill when I opened the shutters and wall paper sliding off the wall in the bathroom. I did appreciate that whenever I called down to ask for new towels or more coffee they brought it up within 20 minutes or so. Because of Corona, they aren't cleaning the rooms daily so I'm glad I was able to request things as we needed them. I didn't book there thinking it was going to be pristine but seriously, what would it take to replace ancient carpet and buy new outdoor cushions? The view and beach on the other hand were spectacular! Absolutely gorgeous. We will definitely be going back to Coronado Beach, just not the hotel.

As for the Del itself...the food, the accommodations, the scenery, the mermaids class, spin class, too many highlights to mention. Five star, would return in a heartbeat.
Como turista y no huésped tengo que decir que este hotel es uno de los puntos turísticos a visitar en tu visita a la Isla Coronado. El hotel es impresionante, podes pasear por su lobby y disfrutar de sus playa. Hermoso paisaje para un lindo retrato fotográfico. Hacer un picnic en la playa, y ver el atardecer.Asombra la magnitud de su edificación y la fachada que te traslada hacia otros tiempos.Prolijamente parquizado sus alrededores.
El hotel está bonito pero por los comentarios que había escuchado me quedó a deber... Para empezar la habitación que me dieron estaba bastante alejada y en un área de construcción, lo que podía ver desde mi ventana con “vista al mar” eran retroexcavadorastrabajando, después empecé a notar un olor a quemado y llamé a recepción donde lo único que hicieron fue enviar al de mantenimiento con un spray aromatizante, por lo cual me molesté y pedí que me asignaran otra. El personal frío. Los restaurantes no ofrecen mucha variedad.
