Pros: good location, nice and clean rooms.
Cons: Breakfast is terrible. I got charged 4.5$ for a coffee cup while the exact same coffee was offered for free 10 steps away. They charge 22$ for 2 eggs, 2 bacon slices , 3 burnt potatoes and 4 pieces of wet toasts. Recommend going elsewhere.

Wow, Zelos really made our stay special. We were visiting San Francisco for my husbands birthday and the hotel reached out to me asking if there’s anything they can do for his birthday.. when we arrived, there was a bottle of champagne and a birthday note, hand written. The rooms are big, and clean. Very modern feel inside, and the artwork throughout the hotel was really abstract and awesome. Anytime we’re in the Bay Area, we will be staying here. Another awesome feature is the front door is key access 24/7 and there’s security at night.. very safe.

Nice hotel! Most comfy bed I have ever slept on!! Really cool, art and design! Good location. I thought I was getting a great deal!! Since I am on budget I was shocked as soon as I arrived and found out we are getting charged 30 something dollars a night for amenities! Honestly would have booked somewhere else had I known that. They have coffee, tea and Internet…. That is all not worth 30 dollars extra a night. Also they mention they have room service but in fact do not because of COVID. They should add the 30 dollar amenities fee to the price of the room as it’s a bit of false advertising otherwise.

Hotel Zelos is indeed in a good location and the staff is friendly and very accommodating. With that being said, there's a few things that are very interesting about this place. When checking in there was no discussion about an amenity fee of $29 plus tax per night. We found it strange this charge was so high due to the fact the amenities included 'Free' WiFi (Which every hotel in the world has in this day and age), a 10$ bar credit which we weren't made aware of and lastly morning coffee or tea is available in 6oz cups. For $29 a night these fee's don't reciprocate what you get in return. I understand hotels charge amenity fee's and they need to stay 'competitive' with other hotels amenity charges but being charged an extra $90 for three nights for their amenities' is a rip off. The hotel was decently nice and the staff were great however for the cost, Hotel Zelos just isn't worth the price.

Really well located, and service was really nice.
The room is big and roomy. The painting on the wall reminded me of "I, Robot" or something, not fully my jam.
Would have also liked if there was a master switch somewhere near the bed, had to get up and turn all the lights off, which seems a bit daunting when you're falling asleep.

This hotel was a decent hotel. That staff were generally friendly (albeit I asked 3 times to make sure getting my valet'd car at 0530 wasn't going to be an issue, was assured it'd be no problem and still.ended up waiting 20min at the desk for my keys to get the car myself).
The problems I have with the hotel is the cost vs the value. I ended up at about $200 a night after Amex Platinum discount. But the hotel is not worth $200 a night. They charge you a super high "resort fee" on checkout but there is no resort. It's a basic hotel room, not even coffee in your room nor available until 7am. No pool or hot tub, no resort what so ever. So what did my $100 go to? Also I would have preferred if that had just been included in the room price. It's a rude surprise to receive at 530 in the morning. The only option for parking is $55 a night valet but it isn't exactly valet as you park your car in the tow away zone and then hand over the keys at check in and they park it afterwards. Which if I hadn't called I would not have been aware of since there are zero signs to such. Overall, the hotel is fine but overpriced for what they offer or rather don't offer.

Despite Google’s description, Hotel Zelos is more akin to a 3-star hotel than 4. The property is fine, but nothing special. The room was comfortable, but the bathroom is dated. They charge a guest amenity fee above the cost of the nightly rate to cover WiFi, gym, concierge services, etc. which does not add any value above what you’d expect for a typical hotel stay, and I would have rather it been included in the rate.
Our somewhat negative experience came from interacting with just one member of their staff. Ben, at the front desk, seemed nice enough, but wanted to charge us an early check in fee although there were rooms available when we arrived (a 4-star hotel wouldn’t do that), but then opted to waive it - which was nice. When we arrived back at the hotel later the next afternoon, our room wasn’t cleaned and Ben claimed that we waived housekeeping services during our stay (we never discussed it). We chalked it up to a misunderstanding and asked for fresh towels. None were sent until we called and reached someone else an hour later. I can’t tell if Ben is aloof or incompetent, but he made things unnecessarily inconvenient for no apparent reason.
This hotel is in a great location, but you have so many other options in Union Square. Pick a different one and enjoy your vacation!

Make sure to use Hᴏᴛᴇʟʙᴜʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏᴍ when booking a room. This website will compare countless booking websites and usually will have rates a lot cheaper compared to others! Thank me later! This hotel is the best rated in this area. I have been staying here for a long time. If you choose this place you definitely won't regret it.
Convenient location in between many neighborhoods with a wonderful staff. Ben at the front desk made us feel perfectly at home as we checked-in, room was clean with a great view, Dirty Habit has a delicious menu... overall a fantastic stay!

Stayed here for three nights and would definitely return. If driving into town note the nightly parking fees and the location of the hotel seems a little hidden in my opinion. GPS indicated that we arrived but we had a hard time locating the hotel entrance... it's the brown wood doors located between the Container Store and Trader Joe's. I parked on the street where I saw unloading only signs and within a few minutes a parking attendant appeared ready to assist. The front desk was very friendly throughout the stay. A major reason for selecting this hotel was due to accepting pets (cats & dogs). The room was clean and cozy. Only complaints: the loud closing of doors in the morning & the loud flush of the toilet in our room ... I could hear other toilets flushing too. Overall though this is an excellent hotel choice for location, world class shopping and excellent dining. I would stay here again.
