We enjoying staying at this hotel when we are in town. It is close to family but also gives us a nice break. The rooms are large and very well taken care of. They are always clean and fresh feeling. The fitness room has new and up to date fitness equipment including a Peleton. The pool area has a hot tube and a sauna and you feel somewhat remote sitting out back under the trees at the back of the hotel. Hotel parking is easy you can park outside or under the hotel for the same price/ Youcan walk to downtown Lafayette. It is only a mile to Whole Foods which is surrounded by nice shopping and great restaurants. The Lafayette Reservoir is about 3 miles away and it is perfect for walking and running. We look forward to our next visit. The staff is friendly and very gracious and make you feel at home.

I’ve been coming to the spa here for massages for about 8 yrs and like to order food/drinks at the pool and make a day of it when I get a massage. They recently starting charging $50 extra dollars. to use the pool/hot tub in addition to whatever you’re paying for massage treatment. I think that’s pretty outrageous, I’ve never been to a spa where the pool/hot tub access wasn’t included in the treatment. The room rate is about $200 to stay here for the night and that includes pool use yet most spa treatments are over $200 and then you have to pay an additional $50 to use the pool? Make it make sense 🙄
I’ve also stayed here before and the rooms are dated and smell pretty musty, the rooms seem like they haven’t been updated in over 20 years. They are really trying to charge people top dollar luxury prices for a dated, average experience.
I saw other comments about people experiencing racism and feeling uncomfortable, we’ve had more than one similar experience. I am white and my husband is black and we were sitting by the pool waiting for our food that we ordered, drinks in hand that we had just purchased and a spa employee came and asked only us to provide proof that we had a spa treatment. I asked why she only came up to us and asked and no one else when the pool had other guests. Our food was being delivered as she was asking us to provide proof of spa treatment and she told the man delivering food to take our food away and not serve us. When I told front desk about the experience they couldn’t care less. The employees definitely give, minimum wage, don’t care about their jobs vibes and there is no hospitality feel here. They seem to really struggle due to covid and just never recovered. But overcharging and upping prices for mediocre services and experiences just doesn’t add up.
I’ve been coming here for years with my family and want to support it but I definitely won’t be coming here anymore.

Spent the weekend in Lafayette for a birthday celebration and long overdue girls getaway. The hotel staff was friendly and welcoming, and we all had amazing massages / facials at their spa. Wish we could have spent more time at the pool. The location was great too, close to a very charming downtown. Can't wait to go back.

We have been blown away by the hospitality, services, and property (pool/spa, yes!) at Lafayette Park. A complete joy to stay here. Every member of the front desk staff, in particular, showed our family authentic care and kindness. We took advantage of the area, walking distance to downtown Lafayette and that adorable Headlands Brewery -- and the Lafayette Reservoir too! Thank you to Lafayette Park for everything!

So far I’ve been here one hour on a four night stay and already regretting being here.
I’ve had to park my own vehicle.
I’ve had to bring my own bags up to my room.
The bottle of wine I preordered to be in the room was not there. One they overlooked this, second they blamed me for not selecting a certain brand after they finally found my request. (later I discovered that there’s only one choice of this type of wine offered here).
I’m use to staying in places that this isn’t ever a issue or concern. I usually tip out a $100 before I get to my room. If there’s a question they call and ask like the wine. Not just ignore the special request all together.
Staff have been friendly and the food has been good. This is nice at a restaurant but with the previous mentioned issues they fall short of a claimed 4 star hotel.
Start at the bottom here I guess, everything will be a bonus from here on out.
Update;
The hotel did send a complimentary bottle of wine with a nice card. The wife was happy about the wine and I appreciated the thought and effort of the card. Thus a star added.
What was not mentioned was that our suite overlooking the beautiful courtyard was subject to hosting events. I had to keep the blinds and windows closed for any privacy which is not what I wanted in sunny California, and did nothing for the noise. These events were held a little late and early in my opinion to not bother guests. 9:30 or so at night before guests left and staff had things cleaned up. The doors to the courtyard were located at the wall of our bed. So a lot of banging doors between guests and staff leaving while trying to get ready for sleep. Thus no additional stars.
Conclusion; 2 1/2 stars, place has potential, food was very good consistently, unsure if we’ll stay again and take the risk.
