    National Parks
    Six National Parks grace the landscape and enliven the mind near Little America. Two National Parks, two National Monuments, one National Recreation Area and one National Memorial Parkway. All are within 275 miles from Little America. Additionally, four National Historic Trails (Mormon Pioneer, Oregon, California & Pony Express) wind their way within a few miles of the hotel.

    Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area, named by Major John Wesley Powell in 1869, has over 300 miles of shoreline, boat ramps, full service lodges and

    marinas, in short it is an aquatic paradise. Fishing, motor boating, sailing, swimming, windsurfing, water skiing and scuba diving are among the lake's popular recreation activities.     Fossil Butte and Dinosaur National Monuments are two of the richest fossil localities in the world, providing scientists with invaluable insights into our planet's past. Additionally there are plenty of other activities in both parks to pike anyone's interests, including river rafting, hiking, fishing and bird watching.

    Grand Teton National Park, John D. Rockefeller National Parkway and Yellowstone National Park (the world's first National Park) all celebrate the varied geological wonders of Wyoming. From mountain hiking to geyser watching, these three parks have nearly every outdoor activity known to man.

    The variety of landscapes and activities between the parks is sure to please everyone.     State Parks
    There are 12 State Parks, 12 State Historic Sites and nine State Monuments and Markers in Wyoming. Two State Parks and five State Historic Sites, Monuments or Markers are within 153 miles of Little America.

    Both State Parks are open year-round (with some facility restrictions). Sinks Canyon offers summer camping and educational programs. During the winter, Sinks Canyon is only open during daylight hours to hikers, fishermen etc. All of the State Historic Sites are open year-round (with some facility restrictions).

    "Southwest Wyoming's Weekend of Fun" is truly the best way to spend the start of those hot summer days.     Skiing
    From some of the top terrain parks in the nation to great tubing parks, Wyoming's ski resorts have it all. Such as mountain biking & hiking trails, alpine slides, and water sports. Did you also know that Kemmerer, Wyoming is the birth place of JCPenney? Or that Wyoming's Sweetwater county is the Trona Capital of the World? Wyoming is also home to many arts councils, including the Pinedale Fine Arts Council.
