From Highway 401:
*Take exit 295, Highway 6 north, the Hanlon Expressway. To go downtown, exit at Wellington St. and proceed east, then turn left onto Wyndham Street. To reach the University of Guelph, turn right at either Stone Road or College Road and proceed east to Gordon Street.
*Alternately, take exit 299, Brock Rd. (also known as "Wellington Road 46") north through the village of Aberfoyle. Brock Road becomes Gordon Street at the Guelph city limits. The University of Guelph will be on your right after Stone Road. Gordon Street becomes Norfolk Street in downtown Guelph, and merges with Woolwich Street heading north out of the downtown core. This route is more direct and more scenic; however, it is slower than taking the Hanlon. Needless to say, the street configuration is, like the rest of the European-inspired downtown grid, a source of some disorientation to visitors.
From [wiki=adec714ae69bef54c5ee79cfcb41955d]Hamilton[/wiki], take Highway 6 north away from Highway 403 and through the village of Morriston, then either take Highway 401 west to exit 295, or continue on Brock Rd. north of the 401 as described above.
In addition to Highway 6, two other King's Highways run through Guelph. Highway 7 links Guelph to [wiki=25009c93a39eea67260af921b48e1b12]Kitchener[/wiki]-[wiki=8f85653dbb6c67984bb99fbfd3657d4e]Waterloo[/wiki] and [wiki=458296cd278d0aaf786e27d53eb0552f]Stratford[/wiki] in the west and [wiki=eaf6cbae00a47b4060b6302b67716383]Brampton[/wiki] and the GTA in the east.
