Buffalo-Niagara International Airport in Buffalo, New York is about a 45-minute drive away.

Toronto Pearson International Airport in Toronto is about a 1 1/2-hour drive away.
Port Colborne, being on the South end of the Niagara Peninsula, is primarily accessed from the Queen Elizabeth Way highway. Visitors can head south from the QEW via Victoria Ave (Hwy 24), or via Highway 140 to reach the town. The drive south from the QEW usually takes between 25-40 minutes depending on traffic conditions.
Visitors already on the south end of the Peninsula can access Port Colborne by following Hwy 3 which passes directly through the city.
Traffic is typically very light within the town. A minor annoyance are the lift bridges that cross the Welland Canal. Delays of 5-10 minutes can arise when a ship passes under the bridges, although there are usually alternate routes available to get over the canal at other points in the city.

Public transit options are somewhat limited in Port Colborne. The City of Port Colborne has contracted with Welland Transit to operate their transit system. Port Colborne's transit service is comprised of a local community bus which operates within Port Colborne from 8 am - 5 pm Monday to Friday and the link service to Welland which provides 3 trips per weekday between the two communities.
Canal Days[url=http://www.portcolborne.com/page/canal_days]]- Civic Holiday Weekend. The Niagara Regions largest summer festival, The Canal Days Marine Heritage Festival offers activities and attractions that will enliven the senses. The Tall Ships gather in Port Colborne each August holiday weekend, for a four-day celebration of history and heritage. Explore the decks, try your hand at the wheel, or feel the spray as you cruise a Tall Ship on Lake Erie. The Canal Days Festival encompasses the entire community, with activities at a dozen different venues: HH Knoll Lakeview Park hosts Ontario’s largest outdoor classic car and kite show. Each year more than 300,000 people visit the festival over four days. Friends, families, and former residents return and reminisce, and Canal Days continues to grow by bounds.

Get out your bike or rent one, or lace up your walking shoes or rollerblades, and explore the Port Colborne section of the Welland Canals Recreational Trail. Seven kilometres of paved paths following the Welland Canal.
Take the kids to Sherkston Shores Resort, the place where families come to play. Over 2 miles of sand beach, giant waterslide, mini-golf, tennis, picnic groves, water sport rentals, big screen theatre, and indoor arcade.
Learn about the architectural history of Port Colborne and the surrounding communities. Go on a self-guided walking tour of 33 homes, sites and properties located near the Downtown Business District and the Welland Canal. Afterwards, take a short drive west to Marshville Heritage Village in Wainfleet.
Hit the antique trail and find a hidden treasure. More than thirty outlets are located in town and along the Lake Erie shore.
Explore the lakes, streams, wetlands and woods of Mud Lake Conservation Area. A great spot for hiking, fishing, hunting, nature study and birdwatching. More than 60 species of birds and waterfowl have been identified at this location. Bring a fishing pole and try your luck at Largemouth Bass and pan fish.
Go western. Mount up and take a western trail ride around the woods, ponds and abandoned quarries in the Wainfleet Wetlands Conservation Area.

Take out your clubs and hit the links at one of four area golf courses. Located in tranquil countryside settings, these courses are well-suited to golfers of all levels. The Port Colborne Country Club defines Niagara country club golf. Whisky Run consists of three nines unique in design. Nearby Cherry Hill is a registered RCGA course that has hosted the Canadian Open. Coyote Golf & Country Club is geared more towards to the weekend and occasional golfer.
Grab a pole, charter a boat, and get ready for the challenge of some of the best Bass and Walleye fishing on the Great Lakes. The International 444 Walleye Tournament takes place in August. Boat docking, boat launch, and fish cleaning facilities at Sugarloaf Harbour marina and H.H. Knoll Park.
Try your hand at SCUBA diving and explore the waters of Lake Erie. More than 20 marine wrecks within a 20 mile radius. Lake schooners, barquentines and tugs from the 19th century can be found resting on the bottom of the Lake.
Explore the back roads and country lanes of the Lake Erie Shore by bike. Cycle west on the Long Beach Pedal, or east on the Ridgeway Ramble.
