    Westcoast Express is a commuter railway that connects Maple Ridge with the downtown Vancouver (with stops in the communities in between). There are two stops in Maple Ridge, Maple Meadows and Port Haney.

    Memorial Peace Park and Bandstand
    Known for its open green space and beautiful gardens, the park is the place to be on a warm sunny day. Often, a local artists will feature his works at the park.

    Maple Ridge Museum
    Located between Lougheed Highway and Haney Bypass at 22520 116th Ave, the museum features First Nation's Prehistory, history of settlement and prominent families, and model railway diorama of the Port Haney.

    Fraser River Heritage Walk
    The walk links the key heritage sites in Port Haney. Starting from the Port Haney Wharf, the walk takes you through an underpass of Haney Bypass to Historic Haney House. Afterwards, the walk continues down to the Brickwood Park and the Maple Ridge Museum.

    Maple Ridge is ideal for walking and hiking:
    * Plenty of easy to moderate hiking trails, as well as a day-use area for swimming and boating.
    * There are several kilometers worth of dykes to the north, along the Alouette River and other smaller streams and sloughs.
    * Kanaka Creek There are 12 km of walking hikes with waterfalls and fish hatchery along the way.
    * Whonnock Lake has a number of trails suitable for hiking.
    Other activities include:
    * A large, state-of-the-art skating arena. It is used mostly for amateur hockey teams, but offers public skating several times per week.
    * Horseback Riding at one of the many equestrian centers in Maple Ridge is a great way to spend an afternoon. The town prides itself as "horse country" and it is not uncommon to see people riding horses on the dykes, the trails at Golden Ears Park, or even on the roads.
    * Mountain Biking at Golden Ears Park and The Woodlot. The Woodlot is better suited for experienced and skilled riders while Golden Ears has a variety of tracks.
    * Golf Maple Ridge Golf course is one of the first courses built in the Fraser Valley.
    * Kayak/Canoe at the Alouette Lake or Whonnock Lake is a paddler's dream. Rentals are available at the site.
    * Fishing at the Alouette Lake and Mike Lake in the Golden Ears Provincial Park (Fishing licensees are required)
    * Birdwatching Maple Ridge an ideal home for wildlife. Whonnock Lake and Golden Ears Provincial Park both offer possible sightings of wildlife.

    * Haney Place Mall, 11900 Haney Place, There are numerous shops including fashion, specialty, and service stores as well as Target and Thrifty's.
    * Downtown Maple Ridge, 224th Street, has some of the best shopping in Maple Ridge. Many unique shops with great finds.
    * Valley Fair Mall,22709 Lougheed Hwy, There are over 40 shops, restaurants, specialty stores and services in the mall.

    Golden Ears Cheesecrafters The newest cheese processing facility that sells numerous kinds of cheese all made in-house. Also, they have a local food shop and bistro inside as well.
    * Big Feast Bistro & Cafe Featured in the 2014 episode of Food Network's "You Gotta Eat Here", the bistro is one of the most well known establishments in the city.
    * Kingfishers Waterfront Bar and Grill Has a pub feel but serves restaurant quality food. The views are incredible and with many kinds of craft beer and BC wine served it is the place to be.
